I believe my past boss is bad mouthing me to prospective employers when I put that work experince on my resume! I believe he holds a grudge because I didn't like to play office politics with the other office girls. I.E. gossiping, talking about confidentual issues.

I would like to move in with my boyfriend, and sublet my room for a year. The room would be a fully furnished sublet. I confronted my roommates about subletting, and initially, they were comfortable with the idea. At this time, we did not have a lease for our apartment (it was just month to month). They started communicating with me that they no longer thought my subletting was a good idea, as they wanted a more permanent tenant with their own furniture. Coincidentally, our landlords approached us with a one year lease, asking us to sign. Should I sign the lease, and then ask the landlord's permission to sublet, even though my roommates are against it? I've lived there a year longer than both of them, and chose them to live in the apartment when my old roommates moved out. Does seniority count for anything? What should I do?

You know like if you put in x number of dollars each year when you are 20-something - how much that will be at a certain interest rate by the time you are 50 or 60? A one page chart would be perfect so I can run it off and mail it.

My colleague's first language is not English. He speaks English moderately well for someone who has been in North America for the last four years (I should know, I used to teach ESL). However, this guy is contacting many local businesses and even media outlets on behalf of our company. The signature on his emails reads, "Thank you for being my friend!"

My boss has seen this and not commented on it. I think it's HIGHLY unprofessional to use such a signature when dealing with North American companies. Do you think I should say something or keep my mouth shut?

Besides the costs, what are opponents’ biggest gripes with Section 404 of the Sarbanes-Oxley Act? It seems like the cost is the core issue with compliancy but there are insurmountable benefits. Do the benefits not warrant the initial investment (cost)?

I'm living in a homeless shelter, & debt collectors are hounding me for money I don't have, & I heard that it's illegal for them to do that. I told them I was homeless. What does a homeless, poor person look like paying debts? I'm living in a homeless shelter, where they won't let me work, so that they could put me into affordable housing.

*I'm on my friend's computer. That's how I have internet access.

My wife works for a retail firm and has just been told company policy is that from now on stock arrangement must be done "out of hours" That is in her own time and amounts to compulsory overtime She only works 20 hours per week and has had no formal correspondence from her employer about changes to her working conditions. This has come from her manager via regional office. She does not want to do this but has been told she must. What rights has she and what can she do?

Five months old, totaly tricked out, and she is gone. Im so upset... Fortunately, Im covered for theft...

However, I didnt keep receipts for all the parts Ive put on her, although I did send a digital pic of the bike to the Insurance Adjustor. My question is, how do I go about making certain that I am given a good value for my bike? Kelly Blue Book is a national database, and the value there will not replace the bike locally! Got any tips of how to get my insurance company to give me top dollar?? I owned her outright, so the money is going to another bike when I get it...but I want to make sure I get paid what it will cost to replace it here in SF, Califfornia...

Thanks...

my partner has just been told by his employer that he is being asked to go and see occupational heath due to his number of sick days in the last 3 years !! he has had 3 months in total, all of which have been certified by a doctor and all for legitimate reasons. He has just returned to work after 3 weeks with pnuemonia !! his employer also asked that if he was looking for other employment that they would have to let the future employer know these details, is this correct ? also his employer said that this time he has had off over the last 3 years would effect his pay ?!? He is actually entitled to 6 months full pay and 6 months half pay per 12 calender month. It feels as if he is being bullied. Please can anyone advise as to what they think and what we should do . P.s. we live in the UK, and i know the law is different in the uk to the U.S.
