In a perfect world yes, but sometimes you can't afford to. You can only cut your expenses so far and if you have children or others depending on you it can be almost impossible.

Yes - it's best to quit and do something enjoyable. It will add years to your life and priceless enjoyment of this fleeting life. You are learning one of Life's most important lessons.

My husband did - he got into radio. He had to take a part-time $7/hr promotions job to get in. After some weeks, he just kept taking more jobs and more until they pulled him on full-time. Soon he'll be programming director plus more air-time. It's been wonderful watching him succeed and really love work (I know he loves it because for the 1st months he's shift started at 5am - and he was never late).

Good luck, and I hope you take the chance. It is so worth it - plus once you get in you figure how to make the money you are looking for.

It might be worth it if the pay cut wasn't that drastic and the person could still afford to live comfortably.

Absolutely...I am doing that right now. I quit my accounting job and am going to school to become a medical assistant. I might make less money but I am much happier.

As long as you can still afford your lifestyle, yes! When we relocated, my chosen career wasn't available (I was an IT specialist, and we moved to a VERY small city) so we made a few changes and now I work part-time. It's Great!!!!
