That is a question that a lot of people might not feel comfortable answering. So try asking what is the average family income in your area it keeps them from feeling that your question is too intrusive. In my area it is about 50K a year.

My family's or the average family's where I live. Since you don't know me and can't get n touch to use this info or sell me something, our aveage family income is $92 000/yr, where I live $28 000/yr

It just depends on location. In my area, it could range from 20,000 upwards to over 100,000.
