Theater & Acting - October 2007

I can't find any good acting classes in my area! The only ones I found are at a fine arts center and those have been cancelled for some reason this season. I really want to find good acting classes but don't know how! Anyone know?

I thought maybe colleges or universities in my city allow teens to take classes at their drama programs but my dad said they were only for the college students there.

i'm thinking about auditioning for the part grace in annie but i'm not sure what songs she sings
i think im an alto so i might not be good for the part if her songs are high
can anyone tell me if id be in the range or what songs she sings?

Okay! For my drama class, me and 4 others in my group have to act out a skit like we're in a game show. We need a beginning, a middle, and an end. Our skit has to be 4 minutes long, with a problem. We were thiinking of Family Feud, with a host and two teams of two, but we don't know a problem. Any suggestion or new ideas, for our game show skit.

okay, here's the thing, we are doing a musical at school, and there is this particular scene in which a guy comes and screams at a girl to clean, and the girl starts cleaning up the place along with a few other girls. I need a song which is sung by a girl to play while that scene is going on! Please please please i need it really fast!!!!!!!! also, tell me where to download it if possible!!! :)

I dont care what part...but i just really want to be in one...its my favorite musical and it seems that the theatre where i live would never be able to pull it off...i want to like suggest it for next season, but i just dont know....for you guys who have done it, is it a super hard production to pull of and is it really expensive? any suggestions?

Ok so in the stage version of fiddler on the roof there is an optional part of "the fiddler" who is a silent part who has no words or has no part of singing in anything.... just little danceing. Now this question is mainly for those of you who are in theatre..... Seeing as how this is a high school production and the music will be done in Orc-extra... Now seeing as how the part of the fiddler is "optional" that would have to mean that the part of the fiddle playing is in the orc-extra... So since the fiddle is allready playing in the music the character of the fiddler wouldn't actually have to play the fiddle would he? he would only have to appear to play it...... right????

I AM GOING TO BE AUDITONING IN 3 MONTHS FOR A MUSICAL SHOW THEY ASKED US TO HAVE AN UPTEMPO TYPE MUSIC AND THREE SONGS THAT WE ARE GOOD AT... THEY HAVE TO BE COUNTRY/POP TYPE. For characters in a script, can we just write who we thing they look like?

Eg:

Guy 1: Like Zac Efron

Instead of

Guy 1: Brown hair, white skin, etc.

I'm 13 and really need help with my acting career.
I was planning to join this acting class called Young Actors Space, rehearse there for a couple of months.
But I called in to a couple of agencies and they said I need a reference in order for a proper audition.
I asked what a reference was and they said someone had to call in and say, "I found somebody thats great for your agency..."
But who is supposed to do that?
I wanted Young Actors Space to call in.
Would that be a good plan?

I need to find out a persons profile name. He/she answered the question in Theater and acting the question was "How can I start an acting career?" This question was resolved and the person became answerer 3. it said to check out his profile but i guess you cant see who submitted things in resolved questions. Any idea who this is or a way to find out?

So, my school is really big in the drama and singing departmen. Every year we have a fall play, a freshmen play, and a spring musical. Well, I would really love to be in a play but at the same time I'm too scared. I think I'm just a little scared because of the seniors who are sooooo amazing at the plays and who have been doing this the longest ... and it doesn't help that they know they're good too and think that they're the best. So, I'd be happy with just a little part in the play but I would love to be a main character too. What do you think I should do?

So I am in a class for theatre and we are suppose to have 2 people in a group in my case a male and female and we are suppose to choose charactors and write a mini script that includes the rising , falling action,climax and all that. My partner and I are a flight attendant and passenger (the female is a flight attendant and the male is a passenger) we are suppose to work on charactor analysis and relationship. Does anyone have any good ideas for a plot?
or can anyone help me and show me an example of the mini script because the project is only about 5 min long.

How important is this character? I was just cast as her, and I was wondering if she appeared in many scenes in the play. Also, does anyone know the list of main/important characters? Like Leading Roles are (example: Oliver) ...., important roles.....semi-important, and so on...and where my character would rank...

(Also, this was my first actual audition for a play, and I think my character is at least more important than Woman on Street #1...I am so excited!)
