I am currently involved in a Youtheatre production of this. There have been 2 other productions in my area. If you have seen a production of it compare it to the movie please. I am in Fort Wayne Indiana.

We are doing the one act version that does not have "Cellular fusion" but does have "counting on you" in it. Which seems to be shorter than the 2 act version. I guess I'm asking If you have seen it do you like it better than the movie or not? and Why?

In the musical, song are sung as a group or put in with a reprise such as "The Start of Something New", "We're All in This Together" and "Bop to the Top". Also, Sharpay's character is more in-depth and a new character Jack Scott(read:narrator) is introduced. A new song "Cellular Fusion" is in the show during the part where Chad and Taylor try to ambush Troy and Gabriella's plans of doing callbacks.

I like the musical better than the movie because everything's bigger and better, yet realistic. The show just seems to have a lot more fun and heart to it.

What exactly did you want to know? Yes they're different... It's hard for me to say exactly how because I'm not a big fan. There are some different songs I believe. I like the stage version better, but it still has it's very cheesy moments. I enjoyed it because I was watching m daughter perform. Plus my 3 year old niece thought we actually had the movie cast performing on stage. She was so excited, how could you not enjoy watching her, watching the show?

I have seen the musical, but I however have not seen the movie. I really like the part where someone goes out on stage, and asks a bunch of kids to step on the stage, and teaches them the wildcat cheer thing. It was really neat. I actually enjoyed the show and I bet you will have a blast!
