I've been noticing that there is a large influx of brittish actors who are doing shows here in america, Hugh Laurie (love him!!!) The young lady from the Bionic Woman and I was just wondering what kind of training or discipline goes into their craft and how can I learn and apply them to my craft. Thanks for the advice.

I'll be the first to admit, soaps are cheesy. I can tolerate about 5 minutes worth on a case-by-case basis. But if you put aside the corny music, the amateur angles, and the cyclical storylines, what makes the typical soap actor so bad?

Generally speaking, what makes the popular film star so much better? Examples being George Clooney, Brad Pitt, Mel Gibson (pre-2000). These are actors who generally don't change much about themselves for roles they take on.

I'm asking this because I simply do not know. Thank you

I need a title for a 5 minute play I'm working on. Help? The Scenario goes like this...
2 people are stuck on a broken mall elevator together for 5 minutes. There is one conflict in the story. Beth and Sarah are unknowingly dating the same guy. They are both supposed to be meeting him in the mall’s 1st Floor. Beth’s encounter is a planned date, while Sarah is just planning a surprise. Through a series of text messages, phone conversations, and dialogue, they find out they are dating the same guy and have an argument on the elevator. By the end of the episode, Sarah and Beth have become allies of sorts and retaliate against Matt when the elevator is fixed.

i want to be a cinema director, but also a singer and an actor. i really love the show business and i really really want to succeed on this. i'm 17 years old, i sing pretty well, i can act, people tell me i have the personality and i really need to know if it is possible.

Cause i'm also a good student, i could follow engineerings, but i want cinema and music. if i fail, im going to be a failure and i certainly dont want that.

i never had acting classes or sang in concerts, but i know i can sing and act because i do it constantly to keep my back.

IS THERE HOPE? someone please tell me something

more details: im portuguese and live in portugal, i'm thinking of heading to UK or the US after high school to study cinema, i need more 3 years to complete my english course, i'm taking FCE on june 2008, and then head for the CAE and CPE.

I took my daughter to this place that said they had casting directors from hanna montana and suite life of zach and cody.
When we got there they put us in a room and she talked to the guy that said he was the vice president and he talked to her and told her she was beautiful and she had all these great qualities.
But now they say she has to take these classes that are going to be so much a month.
I dont want to break her heart but I think it is a scam.
The name of the company was John Robert Powers and Assoc.. Does anyone have any info on this?
If so is there any place that she could try out for movies that is free?

I have to write a play for my History of Fine Arts class and I'm having a bit of writers block. It must be a minimum of 5 to 7 pages with only two characters, because we must also act it out and there are only two to a group. There is no specific genre set but I don't want anything that is too dramatic. So.. any good ideas?

I'm auditioning for Seussical in a couple weeks and in the version I'm doing, Jojo can be cast as a girl or a boy. The singing range is right for me and I guess I'm a good singer since I was recently Dorothy in The Wizard of Oz and Cinderella in Cinderella. I'm 13 and I was hoping to get the part of Jojo. Is this a good part? Can you please explain what this character is like?

I was offered the role and I'm wanting to know how many lines he has and stuff like that.

I've never seen the movie, but I figure the play probably has some important differences anyway.
