I'm auditioning for Seussical in a couple weeks and in the version I'm doing, Jojo can be cast as a girl or a boy. The singing range is right for me and I guess I'm a good singer since I was recently Dorothy in The Wizard of Oz and Cinderella in Cinderella. I'm 13 and I was hoping to get the part of Jojo. Is this a good part? Can you please explain what this character is like?

Jojo (played by male or female)
a "Thinker", a smart, sometimes rambunctious little boy with a wild imagination. Slightly awkward, a bit of a loner.

Oh, The Thinks You Can Think!

You may want to consider Mayzie or Gertrude though. Check out this page for more info: http://www.musicaltheatreaudition.com/shows/seussical.html

or do a websearch.

JoJo is sposed to b a lilttle kid. When i played (I was 13) i had to act very much like a little kid. You have your sad song (alone in the universee)............. the prob is is if theres a boy who sings just as good as u , or even a lil' worse then u hell get the part. Boys always get Boy/Girl parts in school musicals. If ur a reallly really outgoing person (loud and fun) try mayzie..........if not try Gertrude shes just a lil' quorky

Yea he is a lead............as is mayzie and gertrude
