Okay, um first of all, YOU DO NOT NEED A SIX-PACK, like that guy said. You don't need to be flawless to be an actor. I mean, look at Johnny Depp-- I think he's one of the greatest actors because he can play ANY role. Some people may think he's super hot, but eh. It's just the confidence and character he puts into his role as Captain Jack Sparrow. But it's HIS TALENT that got him the respect of millions. And what about Jack Black?? Howard Stern, Drew Carey, Conan O'Brien? Talent.

If you have talent, you're all good. If not, you can learn. Search on Google for acting classes in Australia.

And go to this website:
http://geo.craigslist.org/iso/au
select your area, and once you're lead to the next page, search under the "tv/film/video", "talent", and "creative" sections. It was from craigslist list that I landed my first significant movie role that I was paid for and also got a site on imdb.com because of it. And I definitely was not good looking or flawless back then. I was a 5 foot 6, 200 pound 15 year old. Technically, I was obese. I still got the role, and whenever I audition, people ALWAYS ask about the specifics of the movie.

Look wherever you can for auditions. Try finding an agency that will represent you. Prepare your headshot, your resume, and a dramatic and comedic monologue that you can perform for auditions.

Basically, research research research. Knowledge in this business is the key to your success, trust me. And if you have trouble getting film roles, I highly suggest participating in either your school theatre or community theatre. The more shows you have listed, the better your resume looks.

And lastly, if you're planning on being internationally famous-- I would highly suggest moving to America, either in New York City, Los Angeles, or Phoenix Arizona. Those are current hot spots.

I wish you the best of luck!

I guess you have to know who you are first. Whether you are a good looking guy or a not so good looking guy. If you want to be categorized into the leading role, you need to lose weight and look great. Some aesthetic enhancements are a must (plastic surgery, braces.. etc) Make sure you have a nice body (you NEED a six pack) and a clean flawless face (take some accutane and go to the dermatologist) Take some acting classes, make many.. I mean many acting friends who have been in the industry for a long time. They will teach you so much! Go to some workshops and parties. Get a profile taken. If you can act well and also look good, you will have no problem finding an agent. Otherwise.. if you are not so good looking... focus on acting ONLY... that is your only weapon for you non gorgeous actors. Good luck.

Listen to Laila, she's got the idea. You start by being in school plays, if you are out of school, you join a community drama group and be in their plays, then you take professional lessons. Read my profile and write to me at my aol address, I help people become actors for free, and I have some students in Oz.
