How important is this character? I was just cast as her, and I was wondering if she appeared in many scenes in the play. Also, does anyone know the list of main/important characters? Like Leading Roles are (example: Oliver) ...., important roles.....semi-important, and so on...and where my character would rank...

Thank you!
(Also, this was my first actual audition for a play, and I think my character is at least more important than Woman on Street #1...I am so excited!)

My apologies, I did sound rather big-headed. I do know that every part in a play is important, for no play can run well without every single part. I was just very excited and was hoping that I had a big role in the play since I do love to act. Since I do not have a copy yet of the script, I wasn't sure as to how many lines I had. Sorry if I sounded rude about it. Any other opinions or advice?

Every character in a play including Woman on the Street #1 is important. In fact as a director I always considered the smallest roles the most important. But your question reveals an ego problem which is going to ruin your chances to be a success as an actor. Stanislavski said "There are no small parts only small actors." He meant the play is more important than your ego. And we know about your ego which makes you a small (unimportant) actor.

Good for you , young lady. You prove you are really a big actor and realize what is important. The big thing is to have fun with the role. It is small enough that you will have plenty of time to work it up when you get a script. Play it big and with energy.
