Theater & Acting - July 2007

(my name) commands the attention of the entire auditorium, all eyes are on her. Her porcelain skin, glimmers in the light. After the show I meat her, she has this demeanor about her, asking you to get to know her. She doesn’t boast about her performance she is humble and takes compliments and critics well. I talk to her thinking she will blow me off like the other actors did, but she doesn’t. She stands there talking to me only breaking eye contact to thanks others for compliments, and she gracefully signs my Playbill. That was describing me. I will be a great asset to you agency. I will go to every single audition I can go to. If some one critics me, I will learn from it. I do not consider myself better then any one else. I am not in this for the fortune or the fame. I am into acting because of the feeling I get when the audience looks at me. The feelings that over whelms me when I get to play another person.

I am going to send my resume headshots and a cover letter to the agents areound here. But I don't know the purpose of the cover letter I have the one I wrote but i want to know what it is suppose to be about and the goal of the cover letter, and how to stand out in the cover letter.As an actress I have struggled to find auditions, but with an agent the auditions I would go to would skyrocket. I have been acting since I was 4 years old, and the first time I was on stage I realized that I love the feeling of the stage I am not one of the peoples looking for a way to get rich quick. I realize that you do not become a star over night, but that it takes time, effort and talent and I have that. If you chose to represent me it would not be a mistake I would go to the auditions I would work hard to become even better actress. Performing is what I choose to do with my life, and I have known that acting is what I want to do for the longest time and I hope that you chose to help me on this road

I am a high school drama teacher looking to direct an evening of Halloween horror short plays. I am trying to write my own stage adaptations of Poe stories and am having difficulty. I would prefer an entire evening of Poe, but other QUALITY short horror plays would work as well. It can't just be a reading of Poe because I need to involve a larger cast than that.

Ok, here's the deal. When school starts this fall they're offering a new theatre class. I've always wanted to join theatre and be in things like that...at home, i love acting but in front of all of my "peers" i feel stupid and shy. i dont know if this would be the best for me...a lot of my bff's are joining and id really like to but that would mean actually calling the school and re-arranging my schedule.......I'm just so stuck between two choices!! This would also probably look good on college applications too, right?? Oh gosh, someone help me!!! (BTW, ill be a junior)

I know someone who wants to become an actor he is 11 but we live in a small town, how can he get started? No one that we know has ever tried anything like this before- he wants to be in movies or TV shows but doesn't really like the broadway style. Please help!!!

A couple of my friends and I are interested in auditioning to be on Disney channel (in a show or an original movie, pretty much anything, haha). I found a site for a Walt Disney Talent Search from fall 2006, so I was wondering if they were doing anything like that this year, or if we'd have to go through an agent to land an audition, which is what a lot of people have told me. Any advice? And if we do need an agent, can anyone recommend one in the Chicago area? Thanks! :)

Hi i have been wanting to act since i was 4 and now im finally older and starting to learn about the history, etc.
Im going to do this for a year with an acting coah in canada (which i already have)and then i want to go to l.a. and get a really good acting coach there and start auditioning. Does anzone know of any good coaches there and any good acting agency's?? any help would be great!!
