whats the best way to get an audition with little experience (school plays, in front of family and friends, random acting in front of the cam with friends) without taking any classes? are there any websites, magazines or locations that give you a list of upcoming auditions? (movies, tv, commercials) i live in florida

I am not the only one trying out, of course. Most people are trying out for the lead role, but as far as I know, everyone will get a part. I am feeling confident about my audition-- the director gave me constructive criticism and said that I was very good, knew what I was saying, and gave me an overall 31.9 out of 35. While this might give me confidence, I am worried in the areas that I did not do so well, the other girls will be better...as long as there is competition, there is always going to be someone better than me, right? I just need advice on how to deal with the post-audition stress. The cast list will be posted after everyone tries out, and that worries me-- firstly, that there might be people who will kick my a** and make me feel like a loser when I don't get the part, and also, I usually forget about an audition and move on and only remember if the director calls to tell me I got the part. However, this time I can't forget it (I must remember to see the cast list myself)...

I did a lot of acting in high school, now ten years later I still want to do it, but haven't since. I live in San Francisco and am confused looking at all the 'equity' this and 'union' that. What are the best steps for me to start going to classes and auditions and working towards the union?

Ok, so here is the deal I live in Ontario Canada. But where I live in Muskoka there is no acting schools or plays going on.
I'm 15 years old and this is a huge dream of mine and i'm not going to let where I live stand in the way of my dreams.
I used to go to drama camp all the time every summer for 2 years and had a blast it was so much fun. Then I moved and i'm not able to do that anymore. My mom doesn't have a car and so it's hard to get around so what do I do. I have had my dreams on hold for 5 years now and I want to get them started now.
Any advice?

I'll have to sing a song and I want one that I could preferably move around with and be as creative as possible, as well as a song that is good to "show off" my talent, without having to really move or anything. And of course, I also want a song that is kind of in the middle-- a "stand still" type thing that requires a bit of expression at the same time. Any ideas? Thanks, all!

I am in the beginning phases of researching the classic and neo burlesque movements because I'm interested in creating my own traveling troop. I'd like to know what you'd look forward to seeing at a show. The seductive dancers? The novelty acts (fire-breathers, sword swallowers)? The comedians? The cabaret singers? Details, people! I'd like to hear from both the men and women! Your answers are greatly appreciated.
