Every theatre is different but some do seem to have less going on during the summer. It could be because many (definitely not all) local theatres are finalizing the rights for their upcoming season so sometimes things are up in the air. You could always call the theatres directly and they may tell you what they know or tell you when to expect new information to be available.

good luck!

every theatre is different in the way it produces shows. one of our local theatres only has about one per month, to allow for lots of practice time. many theatres don't perform in the summer, or have a children's/young adult's production then. good theatre takes lots of time, so try getting in touch with your theatre to see when the next performance is.
