You definitely should never have to pay to audition for anyone or anything! Some big cattle-call audition rip-offs charge people to attend. These are a rip off. Stay FAR away from them.
The only exception is if you're applying to a college or university. In this case you may have to pay an application fee, but that's standard.
You should also never pay an agent unless they're taking a commission for paid work they found you.
If you have an agent and they insist you get headshots and training through them at a cost this is probably also a rip off. You can find your own photographer and training yourself.
Good luck, and be wary...there are a lot of people trying to take advantage of people who have big dreams and no experience!

Uhmmm? First of all, you should study. An actor should NEVER say "oh, it's my dream, oh, it would mean the world to mean, etc" Plus they should know how to do this. Here are the two main ways: Agents: This is the best way. An agent finds the jobs and auditions. To get an agent, you need to send a resume, cover letter and head shot to him/her to see if he will accept you. The resume should explain your experience. The head shot must be a 8 x 10 portrait of your face. Open Casting Calls: This is what Disney does, but other things have done it too. An example is True Grit by the Coen Brothers. You just go in and read a monologue. If they like you, you might get a chance to get a role or be an extra. Good luck and I hope I helped :)

You should never have to pay to audition for anything. DOn't audition if you do have to pay them. They are not what you think if you have to pay to simply audition

No you never have to pay to audition but if you make it in the play then there will usually be a tuition that covers your script, costume, and so on and the theater company will almost always offer scholarships to those who need help paying. Hope that helped!

Not if it is legit. Only scams ask for money before they will do anyghing for you and then they dont. If you have to ask such a question you are not ready to audition, because you should know more about acting as a career before you leap into it. Ask me anything about acting, I give free advice at kencosp

You should try your local community theatre. No doubt they have auditions for their seasons and I know you don't have to pay for them. Yoou can make connections from there. Good luck!

You don't have to pay and you're not a professional actor so you can't audition for anything professional. They don't just let anyone in.
