Ok guys I need your help. At my church the youth group would like to do a play of some sort. The younger children are doing the nativity thing. But we want something different. Maybe just some good songs. I am really stumped. If you have anything or a script of some sort you would like to email me you can do so at adm_sec_jmh2@yahoo.com. Serious answers only please!

im doing a skit with 3 other people for my theatre class,.
its difficult because we cant use any props. We have to use "invisible props" and its preety hard to manage those, esp because they're not really there.
also, we have to make it clear what we are eating. (ie: spagghetti, wine ect.)

i need suggestions on:
1. how to ACT when at the dinner-table,
2. how to manage "invisible" props, what items of food to choose, what drinks,
3. and little details to avoid that might throw people in the audience off.

Thanks! :]

I bought a harmonica the other day and I want to learn to play. Its as simple as that. Where do I start? What do I need to know before I start? Where did you all learn to play? I have googled "harmonica lessons" and searches of that nature but you can only learn so much from minute long video clips...

Thanks for your help! and if you play... how long did it take for you to get where you are now

For theater class, I have to perform a one-man pantomime. It can be about anything, as long as it's Christian decent. It must be at least one minute. Any ideas on what I can do please!? A song has to play in the background too so if you want, suggest some song choices :D Thanks.

I sent in my resume/cover letter/headshot last week. If they were thinking about setting up an interview, when would I hear? I'm dreading getting my materials back in the mail, and if I do, is it totally inappropriate to ask some professional advice as to why they weren't interested?

It's not that I can't get myself on stage so much that once I get there I'm afraid I'll fall on my face or something. I've done performances of other things like playing instruments, just not singing or acting.

1. The Tempest - Act 2, Sc 2, Ln 23, Trinculo's speech:
"Here's neither bush nor shrub, to bear off..."
http://www-tech.mit.edu/Shakespeare/tempest/tempest.2.2.html

2. Two Gentlemen of Verona - Act 1, Sc 2, Ln 115, Julia's speech:
"O hateful hands, to tear such loving words!..."
http://www-tech.mit.edu/Shakespeare/two_gentlemen/two_gentlemen.1.2.html
(I can't figure out whether this is sad or funny!)

If not, can anyone suggest something else for the second piece? I want to do a female lovesick character lamenting over lost love or something like that. But I don't want to do the usual suspects like Romeo & Juliet or Hamlet. (A Midsummer Night's Dream is also out because that's the play I'm auditioning for.)

I'm female, but I chose my first monologue from a male speech because I couldn't find any very funny pieces written for females, and I love that Trinculo speech.

are we trying on parts and dialogues here ? Are you using YAHOO as a stage, testing something out here?

(i think i am using it that way .... i say things to see how they feel - things i would NEVER dare to utter in public or real life... there are people who i know get a laugh out of it and expect trash talk - referring to ejaculation, spanking and other perverse impolite things that are just outragious ..that push the limits of my belief systems.... around sexuality ...

.... feels like theater to me!
