As far as the trip was concerned they had most things that a regular cruise would have, just not as fancy. They had their own decks where they could go out on deck and watch the ocean, their own dining rooms, cabins, etc. The ones that were screwed over were the third class as they were actually "locked down" in the bottom of the ship with limited area on deck and little views and fresh air. The top decks and the fanciest and most spacious areas were reserved for the first class who had the best of everything. Just like most of us that would go on a cruise today, or an airplane trip, second class is pretty much it.

Well, it wasn't as fancy as 1st class, as evidenced in the musical. Alice Beane wants nothing more than to hob-nob with the 1st Class and ends up crashing a party.

First of all there was no true designation titles "Second Class",,, Secondly,,, and perhaps with tongue in cheek,,,"WATER" Lots of it.

An Aside: I loved the Red Renault scene,,,for the CAR!
