i find that it helps to write the piece over and over again, be it by hand or on the computer. whenever i have to memorize monologues i use that technique. eventually i can see the words writing themselves when i try to remember it as im speaking.

Try writing it down. Memorize in small sections. Make a song out of it, even if it's to a silly tune like "Old MacDonald". Good luck!

Depending on how long it is, just take it a few lines at a time. Start with the first 4 lines...once you can read then without looking at it, add another line or two lines until you've reached the end. By doing it step by step, it helps your brain remember what comes after each part.

read the same verse from different bibles: the good news, the king james- whatever! the translations all come from the same place... and the same passage from a different edition of the bible might be worded just a little differently- more poetically or something that makes it easier to remember

ALSO!! idk what church you're from but check out if that verse might have been turned into a hymn, song, or poem of some kind. most of them have at one point or another- that should make things MUCH easier

Read it over and over and over. Then you mind kindof takes a picture of it, and it's easier to memorize. If you've read it enough, when you try to recall it, you will see it written.

put a line of each verse on an index card. go through them once, just reading aloud, then go through it again reading in your head. look at the verse and rewrite it maybe twice, and then read it aloud again. worked for me on a test and i got 118 percent.

your hassle-free way is to protest they're attempting to coach you right into a bible thumper. and there is not any the place contained in the bible that Jesus demands individuals to learn verses. tell your instructor to quote financial ruin and verse, the place Jesus himself tells somebody to learn verses in the different case.
