I love acting, and desperately want to pursue it, but lack the financial reserves (I'm still young) to go into it full-time. Is it possible to do stage/tv/commercial/film work while keeping my full-time job? I obviously don't mean feature film level (not like I'm even close to that level) but I just haven't worked with rehearsal schedules and such in years.

Thanks for the insights!

I am currently writing a script for a Robin Hood pantomime. The script is almost finished, however, it seems to be lacking slightly. What I really need to do is add in some topical jokes that are simple to learn, fit into a panto and will have the audience in stitches. Topics that spring to mind are school dinners, Iraq, North Korea etc. Let me know your ideas!

I was just curious to see if the inside theater was medium dark and there was a spotlight on the actors on stage...could you see the audience ? It's not completely dark, but could you see people from 20 rows back on the edge?

I know it sounds weird, but sometimes I see the people on stage looking at certain people, and I don't know if they can see the person clearly or not.

I've searched everywhere-- Borders, Barnes and Noble, all local and state librarie catalogs-- nothing! Are there any sites with full scripts or at least excerpts of As Is by William M. Hoffman?

Any help appreciated!

(I believe it's out of print now-- so I might end up amazon-ing it or something if I can't find a script)

thank you!

I want to be a movie star or be as a voice actor in cartoon's I know it is a tough feild to get in to but i always get caught up when watching all those movie's and cartoon's. i asked a question before like this. I am only a kid (14 years old) but i have been studying around and trying to find something. and i am worried that when i do find something i know i am not going to tell anybody because i am afraid of there actions and how they are going to respond to that. I would really appreacate some advice because it has been one of my dreams that have been with me for a while.

Okay, I auditioned for my school musical, and I have been taking voice lessons since I was 7, and I have a gift of music in my blood. So, this is the second time I was casted an awful part in the musical. My mom called the producer, and said that what you are casted in the musical, has NOTHING TO DO WITH MUSICAL ABILITY. So, no matter how good someone's voice is, it will not effect the part they get at all. I understand that more people are musically challenged, than by acting. But still. If it's a MUSICAL. It should have SOMETHING to do with MUSIC! Might as well do any ordianary play. What do you think?

i really dont know what these mean. i have to use these quotes and foretell what could happen later in the following acts. these are all from act one

Brutus: "For let the Gods so speed me, as i love/ the name of honor more than i fear death." [scene 2, lines 88-89]

Cassius: "men are sometimes the masters of their fates" [sc. 2, line 139]

Cicero: " but men may construe things after their fashion./ clean from the purpose of the things themeselves" [sc. 3, Ln. 34-35]

Cassius: "Brutus will start a spirit as soon as Caesar"
[sc. 2, Ln. 147]
