"Chess"
Great music by the former Abba Guys and Tim Rice. Very cerebral, and the soundtrack of the original cast with Elaine Page and Murray Head (brother of Anthony Head of Buffy the Vampire Slayer fame and Taster's Choice commercials) is terrific. Seen it in London, San Jose, high school production in Wichita of all places, and a small theater in Houston. I am a huge fan. "Pity the Child" is a great anthem.

I love Wicked as well, and it's my favorite in terms of the story, acting, and characters. But when it comes to visuals and songs, my favorite is The Lion King.
