When i go to college i want to major in Techincal Theatre but the only thing is i don't know exactly what i would do with that degree. I love theatre and love the tech aspect of it even more...i just don't know what i would do with a major in it. Any suggestions or Ideas?

I wanna become famous! I am 10. I am to poor to aford an agent. OR acting class! I sing really good. And me and my friends really wanna become famous! Do you think that I have a chance at becoming a broadway actress? I'm 13 and I have been in 5 school plays, 1 school play student directed, one church play (not one of those pathetic little church skits but a very good, top-notch one), one community play, and working on another. I am keeping a portfolio of all the plays that I have been in to show my experience to directors. My dream is to make it to broadway sometime after college. Acting school is not an option for me, but I want to major in theater in college. I am set on being in many community plays from now on. I can play the piano (which helps when singing), I can sing well (or so I'm told), and I have some dance experience. Do I have a chance? what are ways that I could get better?

do you think Wizard of Oz should still be an annual kids holiday TV special presentation thing or should Hook, be a the NEW "special presentation" type thing on TV today just like W.O.O. was to the TV kids in the 50's and 60's (and they are BOTH pretty violent so that should have NOTHING to do with your decision)

I am trying out for this school play. The part I am trying out for has to hurt their knee...in my audition i have to have my knee give out. How do I make my knee give out and make it look convincing?? If it isn't convincing i won't get the part. Also, how do i make it look and sound like I'm in pain. Please help! My friend is trying to become a model actress. She is 5'2" tall so she gets a lot of doors closed on her for model work. Also she goes to a gig list page that I don't trust. She took a day off work to go to "an agency" in New York and they wanted a down payment of $200 for pictures and etc. Can anyone tell us the best way to approach this?

i believe Anthony Hopkins is signed up!

Personally, I am disappointed ( appalled actually) that we use familiar faced "celebrities"
& multi-multi-millionaires to bring inspired characters and people from the past to life!

I do not want to see Hopkins to a great job! I want Tolstoy!!

Does anyone know the best place to go. I'm still in Highschool and I'm graduating in the next year and I wanna know where all the good agents are located. Because that's where I have to be in order to get noticed. I'm really good at it and all I need is to find somewhere to start acting. Like an acting school and try to get in plays. Someone please tell me all there is to know. I would appreciate it.

i have been in skits before (girls scout skits) but i'm in my first real play on the first of december (it's my drama class's play). i've already learned a bunch about team work and feeding lines to each other and yada yada yada. but i'm just a nervous reck. i have been on a stage before (dance recitels) but i'll be speaking, just me. when i'm dancing there are others there doing the exact same thing.
do any of y'all have any suggestions for calming my nervs, keeping it cool, staying in character, and pay attention to the play and not who's out there?

...so what part should I try out for? Auditions are going on near me, and I feel that I should try out another theatre company for once.

I know that the musical is about several Dr. Seuss books, colorful costumes and stuff, and I want to be in it. Don't discourage me!

Anyway, I have been in about 6 or 7 plays, with major roles in two. All but one were musicals. I have a naturally alto voice, but I can easily do soprano. I like fun, light roles, such as the villain in a comedy (Step-Sister in Twinderella), but can also play a serious role (Golde in Fiddler on the Roof).

Once again, I have never tried out with this theatre group before, but they seem to be based more on talent than on how much little Susie's parents are donating to the theatre.

What role should I go for?

I am thinking about trying our for our school play, JATD, but I heard that it is only singing. I really can't sing well, and was wondering if there are ANY parts in it that do not stress singing (like dancing, preferably).....thanks!
