Hi, I am an actress looking for work, I am currently working backstage in a theatre and have lots of amateur acting experience (from college etc) and I have been on myspace looking at other actress' profiles and they all seem to have gone to uni or drama school. Should I go? Will a degree help with my career? I am 22, am I too old? Also, how can i afford it?

My child is very photogenic dramatic extremly smart. Everyone since day one has told me she should be on commercials ect..
Very fun loving could read well by age 4 1/2! Swear! I don't want to pay fees to sign her up seems she should be able to show her stuff and see what they say... Ive just now realized they have community theater. Good practice i would think..Seems a waste not to itleast give her a chance...

My school is having auditions for our production of Grease. The director said that all of those wishing for a lead should prepare 16-32 bars of a ballad and a "peppy" song.

I am a soprano and have a very good range and I also belt pretty well. I really want to wow the director with some fantastic songs and I was wondering if anyone had any song suggestions!

Thanks for any input!

I have yet to get an agent and am not sure if I really want one. Had one in Toronto and it didn't do me much good. I wouldn't mind a few helpful hints.

any good suggestions if i'm planning on auditioning for a musical sometime in the early future? Would like pointers from anyone that already performs in plays and such....

I sing and dance....no acting experience though. Is previous acting experience a necessity when trying out for a play? I know it's best to have the 3 down (singing, dancing and acting)...

any thoughts?

I live in Alabama and am trying to get myself started acting. Ive been told to try plays in order to get a feel, and I am wondering how to find auditions in Alabama. Also, where's a good place to find monologues? Like websites? Thanks!

I'm going to pantomime putting on a very tight pair of pants.
Any ideas/tips on how I should do it and end it?
Please be specific.
It has to be at least one minute long, and music has to play in the background.

A friend and I recently got into an arguement over Mimi's death. I say she needed to live, my opponent says she needed to die. I remember seeing a great website a year ago (when movie came out) that explained why Mimi needed to live, how it was symbolic, how it proved the theme etc. Does anyone know of this site (or any like it)?
Or, can you explain why she needed to live or die in your opinion?
Thanks

I want to act in movies and on tv (maybe), but Ive been told that acting in plays and all that would be better to get started. Only thing is I dont want to act in plays and not get the chance to start my dream until like my 20s. Is it possible for me to start acting on tv and in movies now at my age? Are directors open enough for new talent. Ive been told by everyone around me that I was "born to act." Is this possible?
