i need to analyze the quote and explain how it relates to the theme of appearance vs reality in Macbeth. please help!!

She is imagining the spot. It's not really there.

She imagines the blood on her HAND. The blood was really there when she helped Macbeth kill the king but when that happened and he paniced about the blood on their hands she said see, a little water gets rid of it. When she imagines it no amount of rubbing it erases it or makes it clean again.

It's like a euphemism, The spot is a mere trifle of her scorn the fact that she so adamantly demands it's reversal is reflected in her own guilt feelings; toward the real "mishap"

Guilt is such a haunting personal thing..She knows she has done wrong and she sees these imaginary spots of blood on her hands. She will always see them unless in the real world she finds a means of justiable murder that is convincing to herself...
