'Romeo and Juliet' originates from a 1476 story of Mariotto and Gianozza by Masuccio Salernitano, in Il Novelino. Luigi da Porto's Istoria novellamente ritrovata di due Nobili Amanti gave the story much of its modern form, renaming the lovers to Romeus and Giulietta and changing the city from Siena to Verona.

The idea of Romeo and Juliet does not have a start. It is across all types of societies. There is a vision of it in China, Japan, Rome, Egypt, tribes in Australia. It is a universal story. He did the best to describe it and since then he is given credit to the story. But it is in every cultural.
