I want to be a movie star or be as a voice actor in cartoon's I know it is a tough feild to get in to but i always get caught up when watching all those movie's and cartoon's. i asked a question before like this. I am only a kid (14 years old) but i have been studying around and trying to find something. and i am worried that when i do find something i know i am not going to tell anybody because i am afraid of there actions and how they are going to respond to that. I would really appreacate some advice because it has been one of my dreams that have been with me for a while.

i am also 14. and it is hard to get into it. try doing comminuty theatre, and see how that works out. start out small and work your way up.

I think I may have answered a Q you posted recently.

Your fear is normal, at your age, as many of your peers may "Make Fun"??? It shouldn't hold you back however, from exploring a passion. You need not make your decisions and/or actions so public that they cause ridicule. When we allow fear, or fear of others, or others, in general, to directly guide our lives, we risk never experiencing those things which could possibly bring us the joy we secretly, or subtly, seek.

Without question both things you mention will take discipline, hard work, tenacity, self assurance, patience, tolerance, and probably acceptance of the fact that rejection sometimes demands levels of compromise. That applies to most any quest one might undertake.

As a minor you'd have to have some "permission" of parents or guardian to pursue most any type of "work." Beyond that,,,family should know of your desire, and hopefully be supportive.

A suggestion: You say you get "caught up" Try getting involved beyond any story line,,, in a voice over sense,,, and realize that so many voice overs are NOT done by minors, but often by adults with convincing enough voices to come across as kids,,,IE: Cartoons,,,especially Anime.

Also as a minor you'll likely need Help in the search, and certainly can't sign any legal papers required.

You should very likely begin with "Baby Steps",,,as in pace this, move toward it as part of a growing experience. Allow that small parts initially in school or community, LIVE THEATER is a good place to start. Audition, as you're allowed, for as much work as you think you can handle.

With regard to any related education. There is no sin in seeking and acquiring education,,,even drama, etc. in the craft, even for its own sake. I do suggest this however, even after having a few years of Theater Technology, in University. When you graduate, or finish your courses of study... On your way out, to celebrate, you can very likely throw away the BIG Gray Book of RULES, and realize that LIFE, may have a different set already in place. Go with that flow while still pursuing your dreams.

First thing, Education. Get your education. Go as far as you can. A BA is the lowest you can go if you want to make it as an actor. Nobody is going to touch a person who has no training. Second, get ready to be tired. I am talking 15 to 20 hour days, all the time, if you are on film a shoot can be that long easily, if not you are working other jobs. SO keep you self in shape and teach your self to get by on very little sleep.
Finally, just work and work. Live in a town with a film school. Do film students work. Get your self on camera as much as possible. Go out for local theatre, write your own scripts, make your own commercials to get practice.
Make and keep friends, don't burn any bridges, always be professional with everybody. Make them want you because you are easy to work with. It's one in a billion that can be jerks because they have the talent to get away with it. Be cool, get jobs that way. Good luck.

Take acting (drama) classes and do local stage theater. Keep trying to find out who is doing what, where.
