Wonder
Written By Semper Fi Reborn

When that old man,
Asked you for change.
And you looked,
At him strange.
Did you stop to wonder?

When that lady,
Begged you for food.
You answered her,
RUDELY!
Did it make you wonder?

That God may be testing you,
By placing Angels in your path.
Did you stop to wonder?
That maybe they aren't who they seem,
God has them on His Staff.
Does that make you wonder?

God loves a cheerful giver,
He Is Lord of Hosts.
You may stop to wonder.
That Christ paid the tab for US,
Lest any man boast!
I know that makes you wonder.

I wonder!

Laughter
Written By Semper Fi Reborn

I can still hear the laughter,
Echoing from my childhood.
Playing tops on the sidewalk,
Lemon ices were really good.

Newark, New Jersey,
Comes alive in the summer heat.
When soul switched to disco,
And then to a rap beat.

We rode our bikes for hours,
Day after day.
Like our only purpose,
Was to eat, sleep, and play.

Tag, YOU"RE IT!
Let's play hide and go seek.
Light up the barbecue,
Let's get something to eat.

How I miss those old days,
When the sun seemed so bright.
Like it would hang tough,
And take over the nights.

Ready or not here I come!
Laughter.

JUST FRIENDS

Many of our friends automatically
assumed we were lovers,
and often I sensed their
unjustified envy.

So obvious were the
bonds of intimacy we shared that even
strangers assumed the same.

And before the public
we received the smiles that
were reserved for lovers.
And we were afforded
understanding nods of encouragement or,
at the least, approval.

If the truth were made known -

Yes, we had copulated a thousand times.
Through the mind and the emotions the rapport
we shared was an esthetic, creative and
purely kindred experience that challenged
all of the conceptions
formulated by those
who could not comprehend
what we shared together.

If the truth were made known -

We had never made love
because we were just friends.
And because we were friends
we were always in love.

Rest in peace, my sweet friend.

(Unique friendships are precious. Treasure them while you can, my friends.)

Windows.

Upon the gate,
There hangs a note,
Something rote,
Twighlight's fate.

Doors of jade,
Brush the moon,
Daylight soon,
Playmates fade.

Shutters tight,
Tied to tears,
No more fears,
No more night.

Only broken light.

Comments and constructive critisism would be nice...
And I am 12 so I don't know if that makes a difference at all.
One of the shorter ones I wrote.
&I think it sucks.

Where is all the comfort when you need it the most
As I lie in this hospital bed as white as a ghost
Although I cannot speak I am calling out for help
Thinking of all the memories I left sitting on the shelf
I feel these are my last words, Words I will never say
I am tired of my empty life passing me day by day
Never again will I see the sunshine
Never will I see the rain
Never again will I feel this horrible pain
I need to force just one more smile
I need to draw just one more tear
For these are my last words, Words I will never say
Before my life drifts away.

Idiosyncrasy

Lackluster, insipid, banal, inane
Lukewarm shadows glide wearily round here
Yet these beings let the question remain--
Why must they value being so austere?
Alas! They do not see the flaws they own
Being incredibly obtuse and gray
Some even sustaining a heart of stone
Heedless of the will that withers away
That is not I! It shall never be me!
Who would choose to live in this artless mode
I choose to soar to a land that is free
Where my might, my strength shall never erode
And with every eye, I see them glare
Speaking to me -- “To whom can you compare?”

Conversation With A Definite Maybe. Sometimes? Lover

“What’s wrong?
I know something’s wrong.”

Shrug.
“Nothing”
I say with
Standoffish body language

Long drawn out kiss
Before you leave
As my insides scream
Love me…
Why won’t you
Love me?!

Take advantage
Of my body
But my emotions
Can’t deal with this anymore

“Why are you kissing me?”

“You get mad when I don’t”

No I don’t
I just
I just…
Would do anything for you
Anything
To be close to you

I hate these
Conversations
With my

Definite Maybe
Sometimes?
Never
Nope never
Only when he feels like it
Lover

I see myself reflected in your eyes,
a red-eyed wreck who fails but still tries,
a heart that too many times alone cries,
you turn away.

Eyes well up, chest becomes cold,
arms twitch, fidget and fold,
colors fade then come back bold,
I'm dying for a hug,
you turn away.

Try to write hands shake too much,
beaten, broken, desperate for a crutch,
I can't make it without you,
dying for a hug,
you turn away.

Off you go in search of your "friend",
I guess that makes this our end,
for just one moment your heart you could'nt lend,
I already miss you so much,
can't make it without you,
dying for a hug,
but you turn away.

Some want to make it myself

Crave
Written by Semper Fi Reborn 10/6/07

My appetite won't be sated.
It's cravings are intense,
Like the economy.
Just more inflated.
Like I live with my head in the fridge.
Or river dance for food,
At the edge of a ridge.
Yet my binge,
Is not a craving for meals.
So why look in the fridge?
There's nothing in a fridge that heals.
There nothing else under the sun,
That can satisfy my hunger,
For the Lord God's Begotten Son.
From Heaven, to the Cross, to the Grave.
To Ressurection!
To Save! That's what my spirit craves.

If they knew what it was like
To be me for just one day,
Then maybe they would understand,
and just stay the hell away.

If they didn't laugh or tease,
Just pretended i wasn't there.
It would be a little better,
But no one seems to care.

They always call me fat,
They always give me a name,
They always call me ugly,
Like it's all just a game.

If they knew the pain i felt,
If they saw me cry,
If they understood the hurt they'd caused,
They might finally realise why.

Is it alright? constructive criticism welcome.

Sentinel
Written by Semper Fi Reborn 10/6/07

A servant of God,
Is born out of repentance.
By the Blood of the Lamb,
Grace and humble submittance.
Divine of the Spirit,
From corruptable flesh.
Reborn of the soul,
Now they mesh.

The Lord God Almighty,
Spoke all things into life.
When Cain slew Abel,
Did not His blood cry?
Unto the Lord,
Who does see from On High.
From His Holy Mountain,
He knows you and I.
For He in wisdom and glory,
Has opened the cells.
Released all His Righteous,
Found captive in hell.
Keep watch for the day,
That He rings your death bell.
Until then,
Be as if you were,
A Sentinel.
Be as if you were a Sentinel.

Good morning my love
I missed you through the night
But the dreams I had of us
Made things seem just right

Last night before i slept
I had a tear in my eye
This morning when i awoke
I had a tear on my cheek

Good morning my love,
I hope you are alright
You seem so far away
But i know we woke with the same morning light

The tears in my eyes
where not from depression
but from the fear of comitment
The tears on my cheeks
where not from sorrow or loss
But from the joy of contentment

Can you see now, my darling,
You are my love,
You are my joy,
you are the inspiration for each future breath i take,
you are the sunshine that wakes me in the morning

Can you tell, my darling, my love, my joy
Im despretly in love with you

please tell me what you think of this peom and if i need to change stuff in it

there's nothing the sky is less sure of than it's color
i've become familiar with a mask of blue
but have you ever looked beneath it
to see the lightning
have you ever listened closely
to hear the thunder
that's roaring out for you

there's nothing the earth is less sure of than it's strength
yet i trust it when i can't trust myself
but if you fell in a hole
could you make it out on your own
or would you need me there to help you

there's nothing i'm less sure of than myself
can i be there for you when i'm not here for myself
don't you know i've seen through your sky
passed your mask of blue
we're in the same gray storm
and i'll be here for you

The Wild, Wild Web

Out of the web rode a stranger
Danger, alert of his coming
This cunning dark figure on mouseback
This hacker, attacker banshee

Spin sinner double dissolver
Revolver…of issues, sans facts
Tactless mudslinger, give him the finger
Fight back, you slackers, he’s whack!

Your posse can tangle this strangler
Carrot dangler, it’s his time to pay
Away with your feckless meander
No pander, from us you’ll receive

This is about the phantom in The Phantom of the Opera. What do you think of this poem?

The Phantom rules,
The opera stained,
With traces of his deeds.

He’s in despair,
His prison’s there,
That mask conceals his sorrows.

He’s in the darkness,
Having sharpness,
Challenging opponents.

He cannot take it,
Takes Christine,
Leading to his doom.

Disappearance prevails.
The Phantom is lost.
BUT HE STILL RULES.

What do you think of this poem?

The greatest movie of its kind
A better one no one can find
Back To The Future parts One, Two, Three
Time travel essentially is the key

Those who are not planning to watch this
Do not know just what they will miss
So fine, so grand, indescribably great
To watch this show it’s never too late

All the jokes, minor, yet funny things
The times when that clock actually rings
The café, schoolhouse, and town square
Perfect as can be, ever so rare

Back To The Future, the best movie of all
How can anyone not respond to this call
To relive the adventure time and time again
Behold the greatest movie, no loss, only gain

Letting viewers get joyful, thrillful days
With all kinds of means and humorous ways
Back To The Future, legendary films
King of the world, Lord of all realms

Think of a poem off the top of your head. It must be a poem of your own.

For example: The colours of the rainbow have no meaning
and I myself have fears

See just a quick easy poem. It may not make much scence but it sounds wonderful from my point of view. If you can't think of a poem just like that you are not a poet, if you think of one after a minute of so you are talented and if you can think of one of your own straight away you are a true poet and you rock.

Just thought it might be a fun thing to do and a fun question.

Idea: write something about what you are feeling or what you are looking at.

Thanks I hope to get some awesome poems!

From Ash
