Laughter
Written By Semper Fi Reborn
I can still hear the laughter,
Echoing from my childhood.
Playing tops on the sidewalk,
Lemon ices were really good.
Newark, New Jersey,
Comes alive in the summer heat.
When soul switched to disco,
And then to a rap beat.
We rode our bikes for hours,
Day after day.
Like our only purpose,
Was to eat, sleep, and play.
Tag, YOU"RE IT!
Let's play hide and go seek.
Light up the barbecue,
Let's get something to eat.
How I miss those old days,
When the sun seemed so bright.
Like it would hang tough,
And take over the nights.
Ready or not here I come!
Laughter.
