I take issue with your use of the term "where".
I don't think you can misplace something in a specific place (which is what the use of the term "where" implies). You can only place it in a specific place and forget it: that is misplacing it.
So you can ask if you've misplaced something or when you misplaced it or what it was that you misplaced, but i don't think you can ask where you misplaced something.
In order to ask the whereabouts of that which is misplaced, you'd have to write:
Where is the thing which I have misplaced?

No, you haven't misplaced it.
It's obvious, you still have a sense of humor.

If I knew what it was then maybe I could give you some
ideas. Somethings get lost in more definite places, some
do not. Look in the refrigerator?

I'm sorry i'm not sure exactly what you are looking for, but in any case you should retrace your steps and maybe you'll find what you are looking for. :)
