And I don't mean 'showing' it, but having it.

Doesn't having emotion predispose you to making irrational desisions? Like punching a wall out of 'anger', or not getting a prenuptial out of 'love', Cutting yourself out of 'sadness', things like that?

this website is just one of the myriad methods I use to distract my awareness from itself.
when my awareness returns to itself, there is no need for such pointless mental activity.
yet there is a fear to look there; attention always wants to go outwards, into the world, and not to it's source, where there is no me, no doer of any actions.

anyone else noticed this?

I'm writing a story that deals with the idea of "everything happens for a reason" / "everything in life has meaning" and I was wondering if there is any name of a philosophy or a movement that thought similar to this - just so I can use it in my story.

Thanks to anyone who can help!

Or could the meaning of life be: the accumulation of as much material goods: toys, trinkets, and pleasure imparting drugs, and as many amusement devices as possible before we die. A huge house with a 3,4 or 5 stall garage, right out in front, filled full of stuff: boats, campers, trucks, cars, little four wheelers and the inevitable basketball hoop - aahh yes, happiness. Trips to the stores, more trips to the stores, make room in the garages for the old that's to be replaced by the new. More happiness, and its never gonna end. Or am being too harsh or too cynical and sarcastic about the "first-worlds" chosen way of life. Anyway, who chose that way of life, or how did it get chosen, for us? Actually I am an old cynic.

he hurt me and well because of that we're not together anymore. I'm not mad anymore because I forgave him. Unfortunately because of that fact, it's hard for me to stop thinking about him? I try to keep busy but its not working....

I'm slightly confused ( as always ) about god....
The main question I'm rising is , if god is so forgiving why does he dump the people he hates in hell for all eternity, instead of giving them a second chance.
I've asked this to a lot of sites before and non of them have given me a straight answer... always changing it.

I'm also asking about if the belief is self centered....
And if jesus is the only way the truth and light then what about other ways?
would good hindus go to hell because they don't believe in jesus?

And so to rap it up here... if god is what I have proven (witch is self-centered and un-forgiving ) then doesn't it make him a lier for saying he's so sinless?

Please post some answers as this means so much to me as a Christian...

I am yet to learn so many things in life. but when I strive for making a living, my personal interests gets sidelined. Then there is dilema that I should now concentrate on my childrens future rather than my personal aspirations.
Suppose, I would like to join a cookery class or learn music or join a gym ??... then I start feeling guilty that I will be giving less time & importance to my children & wife. Instead of me learning a new skill, it seems logical that my children should learn a new skill for their all round developement.
What is the right thing to do? or rather how can one achieve a balance?
Am I the only one who is being confronted by this thought? if not, then how you folks deal with this?
