distraction?

Question

this website is just one of the myriad methods I use to distract my awareness from itself.
when my awareness returns to itself, there is no need for such pointless mental activity.
yet there is a fear to look there; attention always wants to go outwards, into the world, and not to it's source, where there is no me, no doer of any actions.

anyone else noticed this?

I'm not sure I entirely understand your question, but I agree that spending time on this site is a distraction for my brain. My brain seems to be hungry all the time and I've tried lots of different ways to feed it - this seems to be a fairly innocuous one. I don't usually find spending time in the awareness of self unpleasant; but I do think there is the possibility of spending too much time in there - the whole over-feeding of the ego thing. I don't mind getting to that place of nothingness. Although I never seem to get there for very long, I find it reassuring that I can get there at all. It doesn't scare me; I think it prepares me. For what, I'm not sure. But it probably doesn't matter.

Why are you so afraid to wonder is there something out here that frightens you that much and the only place you feel safe is in yourself. You are missing out on so much by not letting your mind go where it wants.

I enjoy helping others and expressing myself!!! This is the perfect place for it! I make time for my personal stuff, too.

yes ;) For me, it is normaly because i tell myself "I AM me, so i must alreayd KNOW myself, so why try to learn about me?"
