Is religion a mental illness?

"Philosopher Bertrand Russell wrote:

"'Religion is based...mainly upon fear...fear of the mysterious, fear of defeat, fear of death. Fear is the parent of cruelty, and therefore it is no wonder if cruelty and religion have gone hand in hand.... My own view on religion is that of Lucretius. I regard it as a disease born of fear and as a source of untold misery to the human race.'"

RELIGION EQUALS RACISM, SEXISM, SPECIESISM, SELF-HATRED, EXPLOITATION, SLAVERY, WAR. WE THE PEOPLE OF THE EARTH ARE ONE. NO RACES, NO RELIGIONS, NO DUALITY, NO WAR.

Why is it that people in your dreams (not counting family) always look so much better and has a better personality than the actual real person? Normally I don't see their faces but sometimes I do. When I do see their faces clearly, they always look so much better than the actual real person.

I believe that we always end up either underestimating or overestimating our opponent and hardly ever manage to reckon with reasonable accuracy. So, are we better off if we underestimate or is it more advantageous if we overestimate?
