I believe in eye contact. You have to know when it's not a good idea (Like staring at a cat), but eye contact is essential to good communication. You can better 'read between the lines' with it. Very useful when dealing with nervous people. Remember, though, there is a fine line between eye contact and staring.

Good question King of Love ...I would say for the most yes..I can look people in their eyes and state my case when speaking and commuicating a specific topic...I have truth on my side hahaha when I do this...but at times when I am trying to stress a point I will look away because I am trying to use my thinking cap haha out looking in the distance....then I will revert my eyes back to the person after I have gathered my thoughts to make my case and have direct one on one eye contact!! I value human beings and I like into their eyes because the eyes are the soul of a person :))

Eye contact is a social issue. Many people avoid direct or prolonged eye contact due to socialized beliefs about what this means.

Many people are also socially trained to avoid this behaviour out of historical issues of power and domination.

I take the lead from the person I am face to face with. Anyone who seems uncomfortable with eye contact, I limit my contact so as not to make the exchange uncomfortable. I also use other techniques to improve the quality of the interaction. Dealing violent, aggressive and angry people can be better handled with a few simple gestures.

If eye contact makes you or the person you are speaking with uncomfortable, which happens a lot, simply avert your gaze slightly to the nose or hairline and catch the eyes in your peripheral vision. It comes across a lot less threatening than eye to eye sometimes does, and yet avoids the pitfall of staring past someone or, in the case of a woman, at her chest.

It depends on the kind of eye I am looking at...if its a scary eye ...I am not good at it...but if its not then I can mange the contact part.
