Every important discovery results from patience, perseverance, and concentration - sometimes continuing for months or years - on one specific subject. A person who wnats to discover a new truth must remain absorbed by that one subject, must pay no attention to any thought that is unrelated to the problem.
So my question is ; Are all important discoveries the result of focusing on one subject?

Around 500 years before the birth of our Savior, the spirit of science began to be applied to the practice of medicine. Where before the ancients looked to "the gods" to explain the workings of the natural world, Hippocrates (b. ca. 460 B.C.) urged that sine qua non of science: observation.
In the course of the studies that merited his becoming known as "the Father of Medicine".

This theory of bodily humors, called "humorism " or "humoralism" -- holds that each person produces all of these humors, but that the preponderance of one relative to the others -- a condition called "dyscrasia" -- brings on illness.

At what point of your life do you realize you will not be famous, rich or powerful? When do you find peace with the fact that you will have a normal, uneventful life and your fantasies of being an actress or famous writer will never come true? I know you can always have hope and your dreams but when do you accept what you have been given and can truly be content? I'm nearly 22 and I think I'm in the transition phase between the two stages. How long will this take? What was it like for you? Are you content with the life you have been given?

What are the benefit's of being buhdist? what are the main beliefs?
I am interested in learning about this religion. I know of a buhdist who was very calm and collected.
I've heard other people say that they are both buhdist and christian? how does that work??
How about Karma? I strongly believe in what goes around comes around, and am interested in learning more about Karma.
Any information would be great!
I also hear that buhdists meditate a lot??

Here is mine:

The only way to be happy is when you accept life as it is. When you accept life as it is, you stop fighting against it and you become more able to do the best you can with it. Nothing or no one will ever be perfect- each person, each situation brings something different. Nothing entirely will ever fill your expectations. But anything can benefit you if you learn from it or use it to your advantage, paying close attention to what's really there.

Any suffering you go through can be used as a way to grow, develop your maturity about what matters in life. Use your experiences of suffering to help others and you will be healed. That is a great truth.

The more you admit about yourself honestly, the more comfortable you become with yourself and thus, more confident as you are. You find yourself more social, more in the moment and happy with yourself the more you laugh at your flaws, and openly admit who you are to others.

Dream big. Record all ideas you have.

Do you think its better to look towards the future and waste part of your day, look back on the past (or daydream) and waste part of your day, or just keep living the day second by second no looking forward or behind? Would it be good to waste some of your days dwelling on the past (history) to try not to repeat it (as my history teacher once said) ect. Your thoughts are appreciated greatly!
