After an exhausting two day climb, the seeker gained the mountain top and stood before the Hermit. "I am told," He said, "That you are the Wisest Man in the World." The Sage pondered briefly and lifting his arm to point to the East said, "Nope. He's on that mountain over there."
After the Seeker had gone, the Student emerged from the cave and asked, "Master, that poor man spent two days climbing the mountain to see you. Why did you send him away?"
"I did not send him away. I told him that what he sought was elsewhere. He will not find it here. You endured the same ordeal. Said the same thing to me and got the same reply. Yet you stayed. Why?"
The student set his jaw and said, "Because after spending two days climbing up here, I wasn't going to leave until you taught me SOMETHING!!!" After a pause, he said. "Oh."
