If you can find information on philosophy that's readable it's of value to me. If it's just half truths being argued about it can get pretty tedious while you can usually see where both are partly right. It's hard to be authentic if you don't know yourself, but that is the psychology branch of knowledge. If all knowledge is still subsumed under philosophy, then all branches have some sort of philosophy and the mind lives on knowledge, experience and the like as does philosophy. Everything is really a part of life, it's good to know about a lot of subjects and have a lot of interests. Leaving out anything leaves you with a whole branch of knowledge as if it wasn't important and I think they're all important for life as everything is related. Why have gaps more than you have to. At least give the major disciplines a chance. Mandatory I don't know but It all helps and philosophy is basic, although you wouldn't know it from the short shrift it gets now-a-days.

No. People who know nothing about philosophy live just fine.

Philosophy is someones opinion not necessarily based in facts.

So to live Authentically all you have to do is believe in yourself and how you are living.

Philosophy as a set of beliefs is a necessary condition to continue to live/exist (in intelligent beings). If you believe nothing, than you don't take any actions (including thinking.) Belief leads to purpose and action.
One would not make the effort to work if one did not believe that economic gains would bring worthy benefits/utility... etc.
Now the rest of you question is inconcequential after this...
