If nothingness is unstable, and death is a return to nothingness, then couldn't it be that we will all live again after we die?

I hope so. 100 years is too short to do anything!

The thing is this idea of nothingness(Brahman or Nirvana) is not our eternal position as spirit souls. It is only for atheists and is temporary. Then the soul has to fall back to the earth planet again and get another chance to actually serve God then they can take up the process of Bhakti Yoga and become Lovers of God not mergers of his Light energy. Go beyond the light to the beautiful smiling face of the Supreme Lord. He is a Supreme Person and that light is just his effulgence emanating from His eternal spiritual Body. For info on this read Bhagavad Gita as it is By Bhaktivedanta Prabhupada asitis.com you can read it on line.Tells all paths and the highest path which is love and devotional service (Bhakti) not nothingness.

'Nothingness' exists only beyond the universe, so even if we returned to it, there would be no way we'd come back in the same form.

First you have to prove to me that nothingness is unstable... This is necessary for your logical argument to have merit.

i dont use the word death, but say "passing on" , i do believe we all came from someplace, and go someplace after our time on this earth, i dont really have a concept that "the place" would end up exactly the same for all of us, as we are all so different,

If "here" is "something" and it came from "nothing" then the only statistic we have; clearly indicates a tendancy for "nothing" to become "something."

If we infer, we might say that "nothing" is even needy of becoming "something."

So yes! I concur. Life would appear to prevail.

Nice question.
