100,000 years would be...a nice start. I don't think I would have really lived though unless I could get a couple billion under my belt.

It's interesting that possibly by the end of this century, we may have the technology to live forever. Scientists unburdened by religious baggage can view death as an engineering problem to be solved. If there was a Creator, He must've been a bioengineering flunkie, because there is a LOT of room for improvement in how our bodies function. Semi-intelligent designer, at best!

Below are some resources dealing with immortality. The first two are science books on the subject, the third is a good sci-fi book on what it might be like to live for thousands of years, and the last is a podcast interview on the subject of immortality.

Unless Science and Technology can come up with the answer on how to preserve our bodies and minds beyond
seventy years, this will never happen.

The bible promised us three scores and ten years in a life time, and if we live a righteous life a few years will be added.

I don't think you comprehend how much time 100,000 years is. Humans as an evolved species is about 25,000 yrs old. Your brain would probably run out of memory storage long before then. 1,000 yrs would be plenty for me. Besides, who would want a 13,000 year adolesence?

The retirement age would be different. Other than that, I don't see much difference.
