Lets just say that atheism is not illogical or unreasonable. You present an interesting argument , however, your argument also applies to religion. We take religion on faith, not very logical or reasonable, yet we accept its' plausibility. Most of us do not adhere to atheism. I find those without faith to be without direction. Most atheists that I know spend a great deal of their time defending their lack of faith and trying to swing others into their camp. Must have a need to have their beliefs reinforced?

I am sure if an Atheist met God in person they would be a believer. As would anyone. When you really think about it Atheist are more logical than Christians. Atheist say there is no Scientific proof and the belief in God is only based in Folk Lore.
Christians and other belief systems see God in everything and have Faith. How can a person offer proof of what they feel?
The only way a person can find the correct answer for themselves, is when they no longer need to convince everyone else that they are right and the others are wrong. Just finding your own truth should be enough!
edit: William you discribed an Agnostic
a. One who believes that it is impossible to know whether there is a God.
b. One who is skeptical about the existence of God but does not profess true atheism.
2. One who is doubtful or noncommittal about something.
An Atheist believes there is no God.

As far as logic goes, I woud have to say "no" - there is no more logical reason to beleive in atheism than Christianity, Juadaism, or Islam for that matter. When we refer to logic, we are referring to something that can be proved or disproved, and regardless of what anyone says, the existence of a supreme being can be neither proved or disproved.
Now, reason is another matter, as it is based more on individual thought. So, as far as a basis in reason, I would have to say "yes", just I would say "yes" to the reasoning that there is a god, as both positions can be argued well an intelligent person.
Belief, or the lack thereof, is an entirely individual phenomenon. I do not believe that atheists can be made to believe there is a god, just as I believe that the faithful cannot be made to believe that there isn't. In the end, it's a strictly subjective matter that does not lend itself to "proof".

An Atheism's logic or reason is no different than any one of us. They may agree to disagree when it comes to Religion, other than that? They are human just like you and me.
If you don't want to adhere to an Atheist? Then, as they say? It's your free will to do so.

Atheism is just as much of a belief as Christianity, Hindu, Islam, etc.
Atheism is simply the belief in that there is no God. I'm not atheist, however, I feel they're justified in their beliefs just as much as someone believing in Judaism.
Some need more proof than others, there's nothing wrong with that.
Why? Who are we to judge what is true or untrue? We need to follow what we believe is right for us. They need to follow what they believe is right for them. Everyone has a reason for what they believe and has a right to what they believe.

Hmmm. it is illogical to believe in gods simply because a child was told something during their infancy, before the development of their personality and before they acquire the cognitive skills that we adults have.
I was also told about some Santa chap. Oddly, most people don't study philosophy for years to justify the existence of the chubby guy.
There is a great Rat god and I can use the same tools in philosophy and logic that one can use for any other type of god. Prove that a Rat god does not exist.

Atheists don't say for certain that God does not exist, but say that we have no reason for believing He does exist. We are all "atheists" towards many things such as pink unicorns and flying spaghetti monsters. That is, we don't know for certain such things don't exist, but we have no reason for supposing they do. An atheist prefers not to posit the existence of entities that are not necessary in explaining how things are. Some say God is necessary as the cause of universe, but this is faulty, since we could just as easily ask "What caused God?", and proceed infinitely.
In short, the logic behind atheism is the logic of the method of not positing entities until they become necessary for some explanatory purpose.

Atheism is, in fact, the 'church' of logic and reason. I know this is simply a biased question posed by a theist. If you take all preconceived concepts of god and view the universe in an entirely logical, clear thinking way, it is hard to continue to believe in a feel-good-fairytale god anymore.

Atheism is based purely on logical cognitive thinking. Religion depends solely on "blind faith". Either one does not make the other right or wrong. Just depends on what you believe or want to believe.
