Hi Sophia,
Since I discovered YA, more than I care to admit! I guess we might first want to define what you mean by "wasted"? Do you mean that looking back on an event, you felt you wasted your time, or do you mean at the moment of the activity you felt you wasted your time? I tend to side with Bertrand Russel who said: "The time you enjoy wasting is not wasted time." Although in hindsight, it might certainly appear wasteful.

Waste is a Western perception about the quality of our time. Learning to "waste time" is essential to long term emotional well being and good mental health. Allowing the mind and the body to remain inactive and at rest is essential to ridding ourselves of many medical issues that plague Western society. Our perception of "laziness" leads us down the path to strokes, heart attack, high blood pressure and so on.
I haven't wasted a minute. You may judge my time spent as meaningless or wasteful, however, it was my time to do with as I chose.
If you cannot "waste" time even tasks like sleeping become a challenge.

A lot, just doing random pointless things, or doing nothing at all. Have you ever thought about how much time we waste sleeping throughout our entire lives? YEARS! but oh well, I like sleep, and it's kind of essential to living healthy and what not.
