Does anyone know of any good books based in ancient Greece or Rome? I don't want to read the real classics because they are a little too confusing for me. Do you know of any books based off the classics or any ones that take place in this time period. Thanks!!!

Every body has liked Harry Potter at one point, even if we don't addmitte it. Come on the lady has wrote some thing like 7 book. They just go on and on.
Ok now i'm sure your all saying but she the best author and it's the best seller. I just that she's just rambeling on about nothing. Plus you have to read the first one twice and remember it, so that you'll get the second one. Then once the third one came out you forgot what the second on was! and so one.
who's with me? down with Harry Potter?

I think in book 7 Harry, Ron, Ginny, and Hermione will live. I think Harry will sacrifice himself to save someone...Ron, Hermione, Ginny, etc. and by doing so creates a power (love) more powerful than any Voldemort could conjure up. Love will win.
I have mixed feelings about Harry being a Horcrux. If he is a Horcrux, I think that part of him will die during his fight with Voldemort and maybe even the scar will disappear.
I hope that Dumbledore isn't dead, but they said on mugglenet.com that he was and he wasn't coming back. I was hoping that his death was staged to draw out Voldemort and that he will return.
I think Snape is a good guy that is misunderstood and that Dumbledore was the only person who truly believed in him. I also think Dumbledore ordered Snape to kill him to protect his place as a death eater. I think Snape and Voldemort will die. I think the third person will either be Hagrid, Draco, Neville, or Dumbledore if he really isn't dead. What do you think?

I'm not looking for a hole interpratation, I think I've understood the main idea but I'm not so sure why Shakespeare wrote "eye of heaven" instead of the sun. I think it has a much deeper meaning than that?
Does someone has an idea?
Thank you

Sonnet 18
by William Shakespeare

Shall I compare thee to a summer's day?
Thou art more lovely and more temperate:
Rough winds do shake the darling buds of May,
And summer's lease hath all too short a date;
Sometime too hot the EVE OF HEAVEN shines,
And often is his gold complexion dimm'd;
And every fair from fair sometime declines,
By chance or nature's changing course untrimm'd;
But thy eternal summer shall not fade,
Nor lose possession of that fair thou owest;
Nor shall Death brag thou wander'st in his shade,
When in eternal lines to time thou growest:
So long as men can breathe or eyes can see,
So long lives this, and this gives life to thee.

as HP7 is coming out, i thought i'd read the others again. Then i remembered a fault I had found with them. Ok, in HP2 harry sez his dad was not at hogwarts 50yrs ago. And from the third book onwards, it is established snape was at school wit james potter. But then in the 6th book, snape's potions book (from when he was at school) is dated 50 yrs ago!

so this is a very big t*ts up for JK rowling. Oh well, at least the books are good. the films aren't.

She is way beyond me, I know that.
I want to get my sister a few good reads that she will enjoy...
She is turning 22. I know she has read and loved, Atlas Shrugged, A tale of two cities, The Davinci Code... She has already read all of Ayn Rand's work...
She loves philosphy, and classics
I'm her younger sister, and I need to get her something good... A list of suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

In my class each week we have to read a group of chapters and present two of the ones we read in an interesting way. The first week I made a trivia board presentation game for my class to play. The second week I made cupcakes with trivia questions in the bottom of each cupcake and my class raced to eat their cupcakes and answered trivia questions. This week I dont have a clue what to do! What's a good presentation idea?
