My son got a book from the school library about the 5000 year old Ice Mummy they found and is real interested in it and likes reading about scientific things like that. What catagory is this kind of book, non-fiction? Reference? History? Any other suggestions?

I think I've read this book! Check to see if it's published by National Geographic and I have.

This is non fiction with a strong focus on history, archeology and science.

If he enjoyed this I'd suggest he next read "The Lost Explorer: Finding Mallory on Everest" this is how some of the best climbers set out to find what happened to Mallory when he tried to summit Everest in the 1920s and vanished.

Take a look at what the Dewey Decimal is of the book. That will tell you what subject area it is from and where to find other similar books.
