if she hasn't read it yet, every philosophy student (and every student in general in my opinion) should have read (long ago) "Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintainance" by Persig.
The book is awesome, and though it's not philosophy proper, it's good for thinking people to check out (you should as well!).
A really hilarious book that you might think about getting her is "A Confederacy of Dunces" --- a social satire that is sure to please.
If you want to get more philosophical, buy her Dostoyevsky's "Crime and Punishment" or "The Brothers Karamazov" -- either one is ripe with some really influential european philosophical notions.
Collections of Edgar Poe short stories are exciting to any avid reader, so I would recommend that if it sounds up her alley. Poe is a hilarious writer.
For something more philosophical and less useful, consider a nice leatherbound "Complete Works" of a philosopher she likes to read.
hope this helps!

A challenging and outstanding read is, "BEELZEBUB'S TALES TO HIS GRANDSON" by G.I. Gurdjieff. The book is subtitled, "An Objectively Impartial Criticism of the Life of Man". This work is truly a masterpiece and should be read by anyone with an intellectual and philosophical mind.

Get her a really funny intellectual T shirt - there are many funny t shirt sites out there. Something like a shirt that says ... Baroque - Out of Monet ... Cafe Press has a lot of funny stuff - shirts, tote bags, coffee mugs etc. Like one that says 333 - I'm only half evil. There are many sites with cool shirts. I have many - some of which I cannot repeat here. Pax - C.

Persepolis, by Marjane Satrapi.

When I read it, it seemed very intellectual and philosophical, at least to me. (But maybe I'm just dumb.) Whatever, I hope my suggestion helps.
Good luck picking out books!
Or you could get her a gift card to a book store, so she can pick it out herself.
Or you could ask her what she wants, and have her give you lots of ideas so that ones you pick out of them will be a surprise.

I really enjoyed " To Kill A Mockingbird " if she hasn't already read it.
" The Catcher In The Rye " is not bad either.
