Yes, there are several that get me choked up and weepy, which can be a problem when reading aloud for others, which I do frequently.
I have a special collection of books in whcih I can lose myself and which can be guaranteed to turn on my emotions in one way or another. When I first moved away from home and spent quite a lot of time bottling things up and "not giving in" to homesickness, one book I had with me was R F Delderfield's "To Serve them all my Days". That made me cry buckets and it was such a relief to cry and get it out of my system! I still have the same cherished paperback ummm (oh good grief!) more than 30 years later!

Anything by Torey Haden will make you cry. She's a teacher who works with kids with social and mental disabilites.
A lot of the time there was a reason the kid was experiencing a social problem and she was the only one who cared enough to do something about it.
She's got like something around 20 books out. she's an amazing woman.
( If a child called it interested you, these will too)

The first book that made me cry was Flowers for Mrs Harris by Paul Gallico. It's rare now, but The Old Curiosity Shop by Dickens nearly had me going on the tube yesterday.

Yes I cried out in pain reading Wizards first rule by terry Goodkind. When one of the main characters was being taken as the lover of a torturer, I have been circumcised and I could feel the pain and suffering of the male character. Excellent series of books, well worth a read if you have a couple of months or you can read fast.

Lots of times. I cannot read books in public because I cry. Chicken Soup for the Pet Lover's Soul is a Kleenex book.

I've read many books that have made me cry. Can't remember the last one right now, but that's what a lot of them are written to do, especially some bio's of people with hard lives are meant to do.

I cried when i read Phillip Pullman's The Amber Spy Glass. Its the last in a trilogy. It ends with two lovers being seperated by 2 parallel worlds. It sounds mental but its beautiful! I'm seriously welling up just thinking about it!

Book 6 in The Mediator series, where a main character, Jesse, is dying. Throughout the series, he grew on me, like a real person. Even when he ended up living, i kept crying for his pain.

I would say any of the "chicken soup for the soul" books seem to get me at the heart. Both my boys read "where the red fern grows" and came to me crying. I tend to stay away from those kinds of books because I am overly sensative.
