On the begining when Beatrice and Benedick are arguing they used several metaphors and in the end she says to him "You always end with a jade's trick. I know you of old"
Can you explain to me what she means by that.
And how does Shakespeare use metaphors to contribute to the characterization of these two?

"What is the significance of Neville being the other boy to whom the prophecy might have referred?

"In effect, the prophecy gave Voldemort the choice of two candidates for his possible nemesis. In choosing which boy to murder, he was also (without realising it) choosing which boy to anoint as the Chosen One – to give him tools no other wizard possessed – the scar and the ability it conferred, a magical window into Voldemort's mind."

Of course, I think that Neville will play a part in the ending of the story, and may be one of the most powerful ppl (just because of his hard work), but this clearly says that he is not the Chosen One, does it not??

Where can I find a good publisher to print my book?

Web links, email, or physical addresses are appreciated, as are publisher names. I am seeking a fairly well-known publisher as I believe my book has good potential.

Thanks!

I'm looking for good books about the Holocaust. I just finished reading "Those Who Save Us" by Jenna Blum. I have also read the Diary of Anne Frank. If anyone knows of any good, fascinating, detailed books about the Holocaust, let me know. I will try to answer some of your questions in return. THANKS!!

It's called When She Hated Snakes and I'd just like to see what others think of it and what it means to them.

In the beginning-
she hated snakes.
Then- she became one...

She wrapped herself-
around my neck.
She squeezed-
until I couldn’t breathe.

She squeezed the life out-
choked everything away.
I want no memories of this-
no memories of anything.
So, I threw them all away.

She stole my last breath-
now- I’m nothing except-
what I was in the beginning-
a memory- from when she hated snakes.

By me.

I am looking for more books like the ones in the list below, books that if you read them will change your perspective and greatly increase your overall knowledge and understanding.

These are the ones I've been through so far, and consider very important reading for life and political perspective in general:

-The Bible
-Practical Ethics by Peter Singer
-Mein Kampf
-everything by Freud

...So, there must be others out there... Any ideas?

Ka 'Ba

A closed window looks down
on a dirty courtyard, and black people
call across or scream or walk across
defying physics in the stream of their will

Our world is full of sound
Our world is more lovely than anyone's
though we suffer, and kill each other
and sometimes fail to walk the air

We are beautiful people
with African imaginations
full of masks and dances and swelling chants

with African eyes, and noses, and arms,
though we sprawl in grey chains in a place
full of winters, when what we want is sun.

We have been captured,
brothers. And we labor
to make our getaway, into
the ancient image, into a new

correspondence with ourselves
and our black family. We read magic
now we need the spells, to rise up
return, destroy, and create. What will be

the sacred words?

Have read all of IM's novels and philosophy etc. Have not been able since her death to find anyone to succeed her as a major unique talent, capable of such range and cleverness and perception and humour and occasional weirdness. I heard quite a while ago that Candia McWilliam (?) was the new Iris Murdoch but I read her novel A Case of Knives and was disappointed. Any suggestions? Or was IM a one-off?

I love Catcher in the Rye. I've become quite obsessed with it.
I would like to read more novels that are related to the subject (disenchantment, or coming of age.)
I have read all of Salinger's work. I have already read A Separate Peace. I do not like Harry Potter (though I have read all the books.)
I am not a young adult.
I also enjoy satire and I'm looking to move away from the classics, which I have read extensively.
Any suggestions?

I have a few, ok here they are. They're kinda conversations, though.

"yes"
"yes, sir"
"there's no need to call me 'sir', Professor"
~Harry & Snape ~HP and the order of the Phoenix

"Dumbledor's man through and through, aren't you, Potter?
"yeah, I am. Glad we straightened that out."
~Harry & the Minister ~HP and the Half blood Prince

"You know minister, I disagree with Dumbledore on many occations, but you can't deny he's got style." ~ Phineas Nigellus Black ~ HP and the HBP

"Yeah, we're not stupid, we know we're called Gred and Forge." ~ Fred & Gorge ~ HP and the Sorcers Stone

Thats just some of my favorite quotes! What are yours?
