Oh, you love Catcher in the Rye!!! I'm a fellow fan of Salinger.
I enjoyed Catch-22 and 1984. Alot of Ray Bradbury's short story collections are very absorbing. The Illustrated Man by Bradbury is a good place to start on his work. Very thought-provoking.
Nine Stories by Salinger is very good. Look into him more.
Also, The Subterraneans by Kerouac.
These all have excellent protagonists in them.
I especially love Catch-22 by J. Heller. Good stuff, but it has alot of vulgarity. It's a satire of war.
Have fun.
