Have you got an interesting ghost story?

I grew up in Trinidad and the woman who minded me told me that she saw ghosts and that I should not play under the Samaan tree that grew in our garden because dead people were buried under it. More than 40 years later I was talking to a Ghanian work colleagueand told her aboutthis. She told me that in Ghana Samaan trees are left alone as the dead are buried under them. Slavery brought stories around the world and has affected everyone of us. Weird.

There was this creepy house [i say was because it has since been leveled for housing development] on Wanless Drive in Brampton [just west of Chingacousy Rd]. A few years back me and a bunch of friends decided to investigate rumors of this house being haunted...One night we pulled up in front of the house in a few cars and shut off our engines and listened, after a short time we heard a faint voice seemingly of a child asking for help. Then after a short time we heard rustling footsteps through the leaves on the property. After a few more seconds the footsteps emerged on the pavement and could be heard clear as day. [There was street/moon light and it wasn't pitch black and none of us saw anybody so it had to have been an invisible presence]

Understandably freaked out we turned on our cars and sped out of there. As I did so, I felt as well as heard something hit and roll over the hood of my car. We drove back to town and when we got to a well lit street and thats when i noticed a fresh human handprint on my drivers window. It was greasy and looked like it had been dragged down the window [i know this was fresh because i had just washed my car that afternoon]. To me this is obvious evidence that something paranormal had happened. On other accounts we returned to the house to investigate further.

This time we decided to go on the property [in broad daylight]. As we approached the house weird chamber music could be heard coming from what appeared to be the attic. Not wanting to be seen by anyone we decided to come back that night. Later that night we came back with a whole group of people with the intentions of entering the house through the rear porch door. We walked up the porch and just as my friend reached for the handle on the door the music up in the attic began again [sounded like a mix between chamber music and some old Doors song, creepy either way].

Stunned by this I took a step back and just then noticed a flash out of the corner of my eye run to the front of the house around the corner. I grabbed a flashlight and with a friend chased the flash i had seen. After running halfway around the house in chase of this thing we came to a clearing with nothing there but a tire swing hanging from an old tree which was in full momentum [this struck me odd as it was not windy at all and this swing was freshly activated]. The entire property had this aged feeling about it. On the front lawn there was a late model 70's Ford Mustang which obviously hadn't been driven in years, maybe even decades because the lawn and weeds had fused with the car. Also, in the basement when we shone a flashlight inside was entirely and i mean wall to wall to the ceiling packed with boxes of random stuff and items which all had an antique feel to them.

It is my personal belief that the owner of this house probably died in this house and perhaps their corpse was inside this house during all these events. Sadly as of the summer of 2004 [i think] this house and the barn [we never had the nerve to go check the barn] had been leveled, the car also removed. To this day the only thing standing on this site is a tall gray silo surrounded by debris of the house and barn. The site is surrounded by a patch of evergreen trees that oddly stick out considering that besides these trees, there is only empty farmland.

i just copied and paste from a forum i wrote this on to see if anyone else had any expierences from this place..but you get the point, the story is still the same..SUPER creepy!!! too bad it's gone now.

Me and my girlfriend were in a room when something invisible passed through it. We both felt it at the same time. Lasted about 5 to 10 seconds. We both said "what was that?" at the same time. The hairs on our arms were all standing up with static electricity and we both felt this cold sensation up and down our spines (like you can get with a fright or an adrenaline rush). The reason I stress the "both" part of it is because, had I been alone, I would just have thought I was having some weird sensation, I don't know. But we both felt it, nobody was imagining anything. That was over 25 years ago and I still remember it to this day.

I heard a story of this rich old man who lived near me. He owned a lot of land and agreed to sell some to property developers on the condition that they didn't chop down the trees on the land. They agreed and the deal went through. However, after the man died, they did chop the trees down and that's when the haunting started. Angry voices could be heard on the estate (now with tenants on it) at night shouting: "Why did you cut down the trees?" Another night a newspaper reporter actually recorded a strange voice screaming and then singing "Old Man River" in the middle of the night. The voices only stopped when new trees were planted on the site.

My aunt told me that story when I was a child as she lived on the estate where the trees were and then, when I grew up, I read the same tale in a book of ghost stories. Weird.

When I was younger and lived in California, my sister and I often saw or felt a presence. We named this ghost Casper (we were VERY young - I know, not very imaginative.) One specific incident we both remember happened when we were in bed - we heard an aerosol can spraying and then saw the shadow on the wall. There were swings that moved, doors that closed and I woke up one morning dreaming about a ghost reaching out to me, finding the curtains tangled up in my hands. We moved across country and thought Casper came with us. I was in our walkout basement, alone, and something locked the sliding glass door while I sat there. I don't think Casper liked the midwest, so he/she/it left us.

I've been part of some pretty moving seances, but this one I'm going to type was apart from those.

I was living in a basement studio apartment - the bottom of a house. I was awake, but in bed, and I kept hearing a noise coming from outside. It reminds me of the sound in The Exorcist, when there are pings, scratchings whatever you want to call it, in the attic.

I finally got up the nerve to get up and look outside, but saw nothing. The neighbors basement light was on, but the sound had stopped. Of course. So I went back to bed, lights out, and felt a presence. It felt like evil - something that wanted to wreak havoc and to hurt me. The mattress next to me sank down as "it" sat beside me. You know how you try to fake you're asleep? How your breathing gets all crazy and you're afraid to move? That was me. My eyes were open, but I couldn't see anything - the presence was behind me.

I then felt the weight shift as something bent over me. I decided it wasn't going to mess with me anymore, so I moved my arm quickly, hitting with my elbow the space I believed it to be sitting. Nothing. And the presence was gone.

I got up, turned on the lights and secured a golf club, which I put by my bed. I decided I'd be ready next time.

Yes. One day when I was 14, I was squeezing a spot in the mirror (sorry I know its gross but its true), and I was alone in the bathroom.The door was locked. Someone went Boo!! It made me scream! I still swer to this day that is was my late brother who used to love playing tricks on people.
