I've read all the Harry potter books but I forgot who the prince is! I'm supposed to do a report on the book but I don't remember his name! Help!

he's the half blood prince because his mother's maiden name was prince. she married a muggle, which made him the half-blood Prince.
how could you forget that!! lol i would understand maybe the color of ron's sweater his mother knits for him .. but the half blood prince is MAJOR!

Prof. Severus Snape is the Half-Blood Prince... Harry finds out at the end of the book, after Snape kills Prof. Dumbledore. It's Hermione who finds out where the nick name comes from.. Snape's mother maiden name was Prince. Harry uses the Prince's Potions book during the year... where the side notes written everywhere on the book helps him improve a lot in Potions, and teach him some interesting new charms and some.. not so good ones too...

It's the name that was in the Potions book that Harry borrows from the potions professor.
In the end, Hermione figures out that the Half Blood Prince is Professor Snape. His mother was of pure blood and she married a muggle. Her maiden name was Eileen Prince. Snape nick-named himself the Half Blood Prince in order to disassociate himself from his muggle father.

Severus Snape cause his mom was a witch with the last name of "Prince" and his dad was muggle-born, so he's a half-blood-'Prince' .....I think.....
