I think she's going to kill a lot more than just two characters.. she said she killed two characters that she hadn't intend on killing at the beginning and that her husband was very sad for one of those deaths..
I just hope it's neither harry, Hermione or one of the Weasleys.. although I wouldn't be as sad if Percy died as I would be if it was any other... It would also make me very sad if Lupin or Tonks died... I don't think my prays will be heard though... It's very unlikely the Weasley are all going to survive...
All we know for sure is that Harry, Ron and Hermione are going to go after the remaining horcruxes after Bill and Fleur wedding and that they are not going to attend last year at Hogwarts even if it's re-opened...
They also say we are going to find out the importance of Harry's eyes resemblance to his mother's , that the "glimpse of triumph" in Dumbledore's eyes at he end of book four is also gonna be explained, as well as what Duddley saw when the dementors attacked them... we will also find out more about Lilly and Petunia, and that a character will perform magic quite late in life... And of course, we'll finally know where Snape's loyalty's lie...
There are a lot of mysteries about the seventh book, a lot of speculation and a lot of things that are supposed to be explained finally... I'm dying to read it, but at the same time, I'm going to be so sad when it's all over...

Hmm, two characters... Well, if you take a look at the books in the past, the people who were killed were ones who were close to Harry. His parents, his godfather, and then his mentor. Judging by that alone, I'd say perhaps Hermione and Ron- if it's two. Yet, at the same time, this is the last book. So either Harry or Voldemort must die. =o Maybe both will die! If one of them lives, the entire equilibrium of good and evil will be destroyed. There won't be a balance. And there has to be. So I suppose I think Harry And Voldemort will kill each other.

I remain convinced that the Big Three live through the whole thing.
Remember, Rowling said that she would kill off a 'major' character in Goblet of Fire and it turned out to be Cedric-Bloody-Diggory. So I think we have to keep in mind that the two who die are rather obscure, like Charlie Weasley or Professor Sprout.
She also said that one character got a reprieve.
My guess: Lupin or Hagrid - one is the one who got a reprieve, the other one newly doomed. Let's go with Lupin got the reprieve, so that one Marauder makes it out alive.

Everyone keeps quoting JKR as though ONLY two people are going to die. She didn't say that. She said that in her recent writing, two people who she hadn't planned on dying are now going to die. And one person who she expected to die gets a reprieve. This was in the context of a question about the final chapter and how it changed "very slightly."
So what do I think is going to happen? More than two characters will die, although not necessarily main characters. Harry will go looking for Horcruxes, and Ron and Hermione with go with him. He'll find and destroy some of them, but he won't be able to get to at least one of them. Then he'll be forced into a final confrontation with Voldemort before he is ready. But somehow the wholeness of his soul and his power to love will save the day even though he wasn't able to stop Voldemort the way he planned to.

I don't know- I'm excited to read it but bummed that it will be the last.
I don't even want to entertain the thought of Harry dying. I'm not fond of any of the members of the D.A. or any of Ron's family dying either. But it seems like one "good" character and one "bad" character gets killed off in each story. So who knows?
