I had to read this book for English class in I think 1998... it involved a girl surviving a nuclear explosion... her whole family died and she managed to survive but then this evil guy came into her town and basically she had to fight him so she could live. I think in the end she won and she took his radioactive-proof suit. This book was really miserable but it stuck in my mind all these years later. I really have no idea how to search for it, I don't remember names or anything. Thx for any help!

To give you a clue of kinda what I like, my FAVORITE books are "In Cold Blood" and "Seabiscuit". I like older real-life events that aren't as well known, but are still interesting. I kinda like murder books ( I know, it's kinda creepy), but not ones that are too bloody and gross.

I'm looking for a publishing company somewhere in the United States that either specializes in or has no problem with publishing under-age works such as books, stories, or poetry. ever scence i read the book my other friends started to read it and then their friend did adn always told me that i could be the bella. or rosalie cuz they think i am a vampire! just because i don't like teh sun sometimes, havee plae skin, and dark eyes, with curly brown hair, but besides that i am in an acting agency but i am 13. not the right age. has someone called u a vampire?
