It wouldn't surprise me if they offered them there as well - maybe even audio versions? I hear you can get a television/DVD and computer now especially made for all your down time in the bathroom.
Here's another great thing about books - you can borrow them from a library, for free! Of course if you destroy them or return them late, there's a fee.
And yes, you can get some dirt cheap at Amazon.com as well as a lot of other sites. You might try a used bookstore or thrift shop if you're just looking for a book - not so much something to read. For me, I look at the trips as treasure hunts - I paid 59 cents for a children's hardback book and sold it for $162.50. I wish I could find one of those every day.

oh my goodness! didn't you know that Starbucks is the place to buy books and cd's? I hear they'll even sell you a $6 cup of coffee if you ask nicely.
