It's called When She Hated Snakes and I'd just like to see what others think of it and what it means to them.

In the beginning-
she hated snakes.
Then- she became one...

She wrapped herself-
around my neck.
She squeezed-
until I couldn’t breathe.

She squeezed the life out-
choked everything away.
I want no memories of this-
no memories of anything.
So, I threw them all away.

She stole my last breath-
now- I’m nothing except-
what I was in the beginning-
a memory- from when she hated snakes.

By me.

Never assume a poem or story is about the author. And no, I'm not gay as someone implied in his answer.

I guess this is about someone with some kind of hatred, and she made the hatred get the better part of her.

She then sucked the life out of you or someone with her hatred, only to be left with a thought of the person.

Maybe this is a metaphor and might mean that in the beginning, someone had a hateful thought of you or someone, and is planning on using that thought or hatred to take the most important thing away from you or destroy you till you are just a mere though or memory.

Well, this is really ambiguous and vague i think.
But, it's an interesting poem, one that makes you think further than you read.

A girl who hated snakes. Then she killed someones soul like a snake kills its prey. She tore down the individual until there was nothing left to identify the person of her true personality. Either the snake hater girl doesn't want to remember what she did. Or the person who was shredded from the inside out doesn't want to remember how she was stripped of her individuality. The snake girl stole the shredded girl's life because she changed the shredded girl beyond time's repair and the girl who used to be is now just a memory.

Great poem also.

The snake represents the inhumanity of mankind. Once someone is deceived by someone they held dear, they become the thing they hate the most. Could possibly have something to do with a man who done her wrong--a snake in the grass.

I don't know what it means to me but I like the poem. It's a nice poem something different something you really have to think about to find out what it means. She squeezed that life out choked everything away. It somewhat sounds like a girl who became what she hated. Not a snake but like she became like something she despised in the past. Maybe her father. He was like a snake but not a snake. And she never wanted to become that but she did. It's a very creative poem. You've got talent.

on the surface its about a girl that chokes some one as a snake but the implied metaphore is she hated a certain kind of person then she became what she hated and shes going back to her old friends making fun of them and crap like that then she sees why her friend used to hate that kind of person

Thats a nice poem i take it like the person you are describing hated snakes cause of the "evil" side to snakes and than this person became evil like the snakes she hated.

i think it means that snakes are being used metaphorically to represent peoples fear over many things. and the only way to over come a fear is to experiece it or in this case become it. and by doing so a person realizes that there is no need for fear.
That's a great poem by the way!

Well my interpretation of the poem is about a girl that denied to be somebody bad or appeared as a pure person. But then,as the other person got to know realized that she wasn't what she appeared. She hurt her friend/relative/family.The person in the poem is retelling how that girl hurt her and how he/she wishes she was the person she was before.

Just my point of view!
