i checked it out from the library yesterday to read because my friend recommended it to me to better understand hitler. is it a difficult book to read?

It's easy to read, but it's reaaaaally long... It's say mostly read the first parts where he talks about why he hates the Jews so much, that's really the most enlightening thing in it. Though the more you can read the better. Congratulations on deciding to read it though, it does indeed give one a far better understanding of Hitler than anything else ever will.

I would recommend that you read The Communist Manifesto by Marx instead. Not only is it MuUUUuch shorter, but it is much clearer in stating what Hitler attempts, in some respects. Take the Manifesto a step further, inferring about possibilities after revolution, and you'll better understand the entire concept of National Socialism.

Hitler committed incest, ruined the glory that made Germany the intellectual center of the world, committed genocide, and called his dog Blondie. The man was an incompetant sadist who came to power by being in the right place at the right time.
Is Mein Kampf difficult to read? Let's say that you might as well scribble crayon on a wall and try to understand that.
